Casa del Tibet of Borgo Votigno – Wedding photographer in Reggio Emilia

I never thought I would find myself as a wedding photographer in Reggio Emilia precisely in the

Medieval village of Votigno di Canossa.

Borgo Votigno di Canossa, between Tibet and the Middle Ages.

The location is incredible, hidden in the hills, just a few kilometers from the famous Castle of Canossa, site of UNESCO heritage.

The peculiarity of this village is that since the 90s it has become ” Casa del Tibet ”, the only one in Italy. Founded by a Reggio doctor, Stefano Dallari, it offers a Tibetan Museum, a Tibetan Temple, places for meditation. It is a surreal environment between Buddha statues and colored prayer flags.

An environment which captures you, for its beauty and particularity

I must say that the environment is very impressive, it takes you for a ride, you get the urge to understand, to document the history of that place.

Elena and Carlo from Genoa decided to celebrate their wedding in this magical location. Yes, because this village is very close to where Elena and Carlo were born.

Indeed, Carlo’s preparation took place in a small house owned on the slopes of the Apennines. I was fascinated by the light entering his rooms.

A medieval village completely available to the couple

The ceremony took place in the main square of the village. The nicest thing is that the small town is at the newlyweds and guests’s disposal, from aperitif to dances. In fact we have “visited” it thoroughly, starting by taking advantage of the garden, then the tensiostructure for dinners at the top, then the terrace for cake cutting and again the main square for dances.
