The importance of the Engagement photoshoot

Every shot returns the beauty and dignity of every moment, making it lasting forever. Just a single moment of your private life – that is the best scenario to capture the emotions and feelings of a couple.

Even a simple engagement can be the perfect scenario for that, not only marriage.

You are a couple in your everyday life, months and years before the “Yes, I do”. You are a couple when you choose your partner every day when you face the troubles together when you make compromises and pursue a path named “life”. A couple can capture their memories before the “I do”.

Those shots will remind them of what makes them choose to share a life together for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, for now, forever, for always.

Between light and dark in the Montesenario woods in Florence

That’s what I aimed to do with Vera e Luca – playing with the lights and shadows of the magical locations we saw. As a dance where the music is the complicity.

The Montesenario sanctuary is our first scenario. It is one of Tuscany’s most important sanctuaries. You can reach it by taking a path that crosses the Fiesole countryside and the Mugello’s mountains.

The sanctuary itself is a panoramic turret overviewing the green valley.

The welcoming feeling of a religious silence is almost tangible, maybe because of the presence of the monks.

Its 18th Century porch is this beautiful couple’s second stage. Only the columns and arches of the porch are still there, included in the front wall and the clock tower.

Vera and Luca are into music and travels, two of my main passions. Maybe that helped us a lot to connect ourselves to the point where I told them about my last trip to Bosnia.

When I can feel such a connection between me and the couple, it’s a simple game.

From the Montesenario convent’s park to that of Villa Demidoff

We reach Villa Demidoff – a wonderland wanted by Francesco I de’ Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany.

Carelessness and time have taken away its 16th-century wonders; we can only imagine the Medici Villa with its two Italian-style gardens full of sculptures, statues, pools with water features, labyrinths, and caves.

A dreamlike place where nature and mythology used to meet.

The enchantment of a powerful nature is still there with its huge green spaces, woods, meadows and the wonderful giant of the Apennines, a work by Giambologna. There is still the Cupid’s cave, the Mugnone’s fountain and the chapel, designed by Buontalenti, plus the stables.

It was wonderful to make Vera and Luca dance in the shadows and lights here.

They were so spontaneous and true, they let themselves be carried away and allowed me to capture these moments in one shot.

Laura and Federico’s wedding took place at Villa Castelletti in Signa. A day which was full of emotions, smiles and moments which will remain indelible both in their lives and in my professional experience.

Floricolor has been accompanying me on this research path for a year

Laura and Federico decided to snap their photos in a beautiful wooden album belonging to Floricolor, a Portuguese company which has now been with me for about a year in this search for unique products.

A beautiful wedding needs a beautiful album

The album is composed of entirely wooden cover and counter-cover, which give a rustic and antique look. This is made possible thanks to the particular black and oak color, besides the wood’s texture. On the cover it is possible to burn, through one-laser, 77 Designs provided by the company, or rather a custom one. Furthermore, the album is enclosed within the Smart Box, a wooden case. Composed of two parts held together by 4 magnets, with the color and design of the album cover and with a USB stick compartment for storing all the wedding photos. It is even possible to have the same printing of the album on the cover.

Such a special album deserves important photos, like wedding ones. That’s why I asked for help from a professional in the floral sector. Veronica of 95metriquadri, a gritty girl full of innovative ideas, helped me with setting up Laura and Federico’s album on her work counter. She made the flower arrangements, taking care of all the details concerning flowers in this service. But 95metriquadri is not just flowers and related arrangements, it’s also a Hairdressing service, in fact the two brothers Veronica and Benedetto decided to merge their passions in a single store you can find in Ponte a Egola, and I recommend it! They are TALENTED, ORIGINAL AND EXTREMELY COOL!

Matilde and Davide celebrated their wedding in the beautiful Castello of Vincigliata, a marvelous place located in Florence. In the last couple of years Florence has been my second home where for work or just for pleasure, I had the most amazing time ever. Florence knows exactly how to astonish you with its lights and its beautiful historic monuments which are actually what made me fall in love with this city.

it was a beautiful experience capturing Matilde and Davide’s wedding, from its preparation at the Hotel Baglioni to the ceremony celebrated at the San Salvatore al Monte’s Church. The pictures that follow were taken at Piazzale Michelangelo a very nice square considered to be a true beauty even although it’s taken from granted by Tuscany people. The wedding reception took place in this beautiful castle, in Fiesole. We had the best view ever, Florence was just beneath us!

The day wasn’t one of the best ones, the sky was slightly clouded so we couldn’t get the “light shadows” over Florence as we would have liked. Nevertheless, we did this Engagement photo shoot in Florence on Sunday afternoon. Many would think I was a fool considering that time of the day one of the busiest times in the city…

At the end of the shooting, in reality, it turned out there were lesser people around that what I thought!

For those pictures, I wanted to use the motion of the crowd to emphasize the idea that everything in life moves around us, changes and is transformed. But in all this, one thing always remains firm,  love. Love for our loved ones, for our children, for our parents, for our four-legged friends…

What could another city offer such an inspiration for an engagement photo shooting? Florence from each corner is one of the most beautiful city in the world!
